Just before her wedding, a mother pulled aside her daughter for some motherly advice. "Remember: cook a man a fish and you feed him for a day. But teach a man to fish and you'll get rid of him every weekend!"
My girlfriend, an exercise enthusiast with a gorgeous figure, teased me because I had put on a few pounds. But I had trouble staying motivated ...until she taped a picture to the refrigerator. It showed her barely in a bikini, with this little poem: "Reach for your mate / Instead of your plate." So far, I've lost twelve pounds!
