A mathematician and an engineer participated in an experiment in which they were placed in a room, at the far end of which was a beautiful naked woman on a bed. The experimenter told them, "Every 30 seconds, you may travel half the distance to the woman. The engineer smiled. The mathematician huffed, "This is pointless! Don't you see? You'll never reach her!" The engineer replied, "So what? Pretty soon, I'll be close enough for all practical purposes!"
