My summer band class was interrupted when a large insect flew into the room. The sixth-graders tried to ignore the buzzing intruder, but eventually one student could stand it no more. He rolled up his music book, swatted the bug, and then stomped on it to ensure its fate. Another student asked him, "Is it a bee?" He replied, "Nope. Bee flat!"
"Bill, you look distraught. What's wrong?" "Last night, I got fired from the title role in Romeo and Juliet." "What happened?" "Oh, I misunderstood a simple stage direction." "Stage direction?" What stage direction?" "My script said, 'Enter Juliet from the rear'!"
